I. The height of grass silk
The height of the grass directly affects the athletic performance and visual effects of the court. Different types of football fields have different requirements for the height of grass:
Futsal football field: generally use 32mm~50mm high artificial lawn.
Seven-a-side football field: 40mm~50mm high artificial lawn can be used.
Standard eleven-a-side football field: usually use 50mm~55mm high artificial lawn.
II. Density
The density of artificial lawn refers to the number of grass threads per unit area, usually in "clusters/square meters". High-density lawns have better wear resistance, stability and athletic performance. According to the regulations of the International Football Federation (FIFA) and market demand:
The density of artificial turf in the general competition venue should be at least 8,000 clusters/square meter.
The professional competition venue is at least 10,500 clusters/square meter, and even up to 21,000 clusters/square meter.
III. Material
Artificial lawns are mostly made of PE (polyethylene) or other synthetic materials, such as PP (polypropylene). Different materials have different performance characteristics:
PE material: It has excellent wear resistance, anti-aging and anti-ultraviolet performance, as well as good elasticity and comfort. It is a common material for artificial lawns in football fields.
PP material: high strength, good rigidity, high elasticity, but brittleness, easy to generate static electricity. Polymer blended lawns that combine the advantages of PE and PP materials are also an ideal choice.
IV. Structure
The structure of artificial lawn includes grass silk, base cloth and backing glue:
Grass silk: It is the main component of the lawn, and its shape, diameter, weight and other parameters will affect the performance of the lawn.
Base cloth: used to support the grass thread and fix it on the ground, usually using mesh base cloth or other reinforced materials.
Back glue: It is used to glue the lawn together with the ground to ensure the stability and durability of the lawn.
V. Filler
Some artificial lawns on football fields need to be filled with sand grains or rubber particles and other fillers. These fillers can increase the stability and elasticity of the lawn and improve the sports experience of players. The type and quantity of fillers should be selected according to the specific site and usage needs:
Quartz sand: the particle size should be between 0.3~1.5mm, and the silicon content should be more than 90%.
Rubber particles: The filling amount is adjusted according to the site type and demand.
