1. Causes of bubbling (bulging)
Common causes
Improper foundation treatment: The ground is damp or no waterproof layer is applied, causing water vapor to rise and leading to bulging of the runway.
• Poor material quality: Insufficient adhesive force of the glue, or impurities mixed in the glue compound.
• Unsuitable construction temperature: Construction in high or low temperature environments leads to poor adhesion of the adhesive layer.
Solution suggestions
The base layer should be coated with a waterproof layer and kept dry.
• Select raw materials and matching adhesives with quality assurance.
Control the construction temperature between 15℃ and 35℃.
2. Causes of cracking
Common causes
• Foundation settlement or expansion: The concrete foundation fails to leave expansion joints as per the specifications or is not compacted sufficiently.
• Temperature difference influence: A large temperature difference between hot and cold causes the material to expand and contract due to heat, resulting in cracks.
• Uneven thickness: If the local laying is too thin, it is prone to stress concentration and cracking.
Solution suggestions
• Strictly follow the standards for construction, and do a good job in foundation compaction and expansion joint design.
Use materials with good elasticity to increase tensile strength.
Ensure uniform and consistent thickness of the runway.
3. Reasons for threshing
Common causes
• Incorrect glue ratio: Insufficient glue or uneven mixing, resulting in the particles not adhering firmly.
• Unqualified materials: The particles contain too many impurities or the hardness is not appropriate.
• Excessive wear and tear: Frequent use without maintenance or overloading.
Solution suggestions
Mix the materials strictly in proportion to ensure uniform stirring.
• Select high-quality particles and glue that meet the standards.
Regularly clean and maintain the runway to avoid long-term overloading.
4. Preventive measures
Select new materials that comply with national standards and avoid low-priced and inferior products.
Entrust the construction to a qualified team and do a good job in quality monitoring.
After completion, ensure thorough maintenance and let it stand for at least 7 days before putting it into use.
Regular inspection and maintenance should be carried out, and minor issues should be promptly repaired.
